Your lessons are delivered by a DVSA-registered instructor or an advanced trainee driving instructor, all trained to our local curriculum. 

Midweek Daytime (Before 5:30 PM): £40 / hr PAYG, or £38 / hr when block-booking 20 hours

Evening (After 5:30 PM): £42 / hr

Weekend (Saturday & Sunday): £45 / hr

Lessons delivered by a master-level coach (Fleet or RoSPA certified) specializing in intensive test preparation and advanced vehicle control.

Midweek Daytime (Before 5:30 PM): £60 / hr

Evening (After 5:30 PM): £65 / hr

Radcliffe, the Metrolink, and the M26 corridor

Radcliffe sits between Bury and the Manchester side of the borough, with Metrolink, a town centre, and residential M26 streets that do not behave like Bolton’s BL2 grid. Lessons here usually collect from Radcliffe Metrolink, the town centre, or Outwood Road estates, then work the local junctions — Bridge Street, A665 transitions, Ainsworth Drive — before linking toward Bury’s Smith Street test centre. That is a south-Bury problem set, not a Weston Street problem set.

The Metrolink stop is a practical pick-up and a training environment: pedestrians, taxis, signal timing, and the temptation to stare at the tram instead of the junction. Town-centre Radcliffe adds parked vehicles and changing priorities on short links. The A665 transitions punish late speed-limit reading. None of that requires an unpublished test-route PDF. It requires hours on those named roads until the pupil can describe the hazard before they arrive at it.

Most Radcliffe learners take the practical test at Smith Street in Bury. Some who live toward the Salford or Manchester fringe will ask about Cheetham Hill. That is a different centre with a different page. We will not mash them. If your test is at Smith Street, the last lessons should include the Bury southern approaches, not only a loop of Radcliffe retail parks.

Who covers Radcliffe

Local coverage is organised on the Radcliffe page with door-to-door collection. The school’s founder, Dan Ison, is based in Harwood, BL2, and trains instructors under ORDIT. A Radcliffe learner hour is still a learner hour with the instructor on your booking. If you want ADI Part 3 or Standards Check work, that is a separate product on the instructor-training pages.

Automatic lessons are available, including collection from the Metrolink. Automatic does not skip observation on Bridge Street. Manual learners get the same geography plus clutch control on the modest gradients between the Irwell and the town. Nervous pupils can stay on quieter M26 residential streets until they can hold a routine, then add the tram stop.

Tram stop, then Bury approaches

Collect at the Metrolink when that is the pupil’s real start point. Do not collect in Bury town and call it a Radcliffe lesson. Early hours can stay on M26 residential streets. Mid-block hours should include Bridge Street and an A665 speed-limit change. Later hours should include the southern run toward Smith Street. That sequence keeps Radcliffe as Radcliffe instead of a Bury clone with a tram photo.

Evening lessons miss the tram-peak pedestrians. Saturday lessons miss weekday vans. Mix them. Independent driving here is often a mix of signs and sat-nav toward Bury. Practise both. Do not invent a list of examiner destinations.
