Farnworth and Kearsley: south Bolton, BL4

Farnworth is a south-Bolton town in BL4, with Market Street retail traffic, Kearsley and Bradford Road roundabout layouts, and A666 speed-limit transitions toward the rest of the borough. It is a different lesson from Harwood’s BL2 village streets and from Westhoughton’s BL5 grid. If you live in Farnworth, Moses Gate or Kearsley, this page should describe your roads. The Bolton hub remains the Weston Street overview.

Market Street and the retail corridors are pedestrian-heavy, with buses and short-stay parking. Blind junctions and dense roadside parking make meeting decisions frequent. The Kearsley and Bradford Road roundabout layouts ask for early lane choice. The A666 nearby asks for a clean change of speed and a decision about whether you are still in a 30 or already on a faster dual carriageway. Those are named, public, Farnworth problems. They are not an unpublished examiner sheet.

Most Farnworth learners test at Weston Street. The northward run toward the centre uses the same A666 family of roads you will already have practised if the syllabus is honest. We will not claim we have the exact test route. We will not treat Farnworth as a generic “south Manchester” template.

Door-to-door pick-up should still be Farnworth if that is home.

Beginners, refreshers and Pass Plus customers are three products. Farnworth has demand for all three because of the A666 and the town-centre mix. Do not sell a beginner package as motorway prep. Do not sell ORDIT instructor training as a Farnworth learner hour. Those URLs already exist; this page should send people there, not copy them.
