Hi, I’m Sharon — an advanced driver and DVSA-registered trainee driving instructor with Harwood Driving School.

I live and work around Atherton and Salford, so the roads you will actually use on lesson days and on test day are the ones I know in detail: Gibfield Park Avenue and the industrial estate approaches into the Atherton test centre, the A579 and A577 through Atherton and Tyldesley, Market Street and the tight residential grids off Lovers Lane, the A580 East Lancs, and the busier Salford routes through Walkden, Worsley and Swinton. Those are the junctions, roundabouts and speed-limit changes examiners use — and they are built into every lesson plan.

I am currently completing my ADI training as a Potential Driving Instructor (PDI). That means I display the pink triangular badge and teach under the approved supervision of our ORDIT Grade A founder. You get structured, client-centred lessons at trainee rates, with the same IPSGA roadcraft framework (Information, Position, Speed, Gear, Acceleration) used across the Harwood team. I am Enhanced DBS checked.

As an advanced driver I hold myself to a higher standard than the learner test. The aim is not a last-minute “test trick” drive. It is calm planning, early observation and safe decisions on real Greater Manchester roads — dual carriageways, multi-lane roundabouts, school-run traffic and the stop-start urban work that catches people out after they pass.

Lessons are tailored. Complete beginners, nervous adult learners and people returning after a long break are all welcome. We work at your pace, with clear explanations, honest feedback and plenty of time on the exact Atherton test-route features that cause minors: emerging at closed junctions, meeting traffic on narrower streets, and judging gaps on faster A-roads.
